As a wife, a mother of 5 kids, 1 dog, and 1 cat I am constantly amazed that we are all still alive, somewhat thriving, and not just eating out of the garbage or chasing our tails, so these are the stories that make up my life gone crazy.

oh my
Jack is very destructive as of late. He seems to break things wherever he goes. He broke our dvd player. We still aren't sure how. So we started watching movies on our laptop until the new dvd player came. Well, he poured milk on the laptop and now we have to take it to an Apple Store to see if they can fix it at all.
Tigran is constantly harassed by young Jack. We aren't real sure what to do about this. We have tried time-out, we have tried saying no and moving him, and we have now begun spanking him. However, none of it matters. He just does it more and tries to be sneakier about it. I think poor Tigran is going to have a heart attack one day.
Jack has been called by his full name so many times this month that he has started saying his full name while playing with his puzzles. If I say Jack or John he automatically looks at me and goes Weigel. Sometimes he throws in the Francis.
Pete has decided that Jack likes being naughty just for the fun of it, and we are a bit worried about how this will play out in future years. Pete said Jack is already reminding him of himself, and well I have heard stories about Pete's younger years, and I can't say I am looking forward to all that stress.
I don't want it sound like there are no fun times here. We actually have fun and are enjoying each other 90% of the time. It just seems that the other 10% seems to be more memorable right now.
Jack loves being naked. He gets a huge thrill out of it. He will go to his room, take off his pants and diaper, and then come back out in the living room laughing and smiling and shrieking with delight. He is fascinated by his penis and has to know who has one and who doesn't. He knows that if you have a penis you are a boy and if you don't you are a girl. He is also very interested in burps and farts. If one of us does any of those things he smiles and loudly proclaims who it was and what they did. If you ask him if can fart he will try and then look at you and say- Almost!

Life with a toddler
In case some of you have either forgotten or have not yet experienced life with a toddler I thought I would remind you.
- Your son won't cross the street without you carrying him because his father told him he was not allowed to walk in the street because the cars live there. However, he has no problem laying down in the street and crying
He spends half the day going over what is his, yours, and etc. This is a true testament that socialism/communism go against human nature
-When he learns he cannot have cake for breakfast, lunch or dinner he refuses to eat anything all day
-When asked questions like:Do you want to play? Do you want to lie down? Do you want mommy to leave? Do you want mommy to stay? Do you want the tv off? Do you want the tv on? --- Every single answer is no
- He loves more than anything to be naked and jump up and down on the bed
-He likes to hit or sit on the dog, especially when told not to
-He will go to the lamp and when you tell him not to unplug it, he smiles, puts his hands behind his back, and unplugs it thinking he has tricked you
- He will come into your bedroom with an empty bottle of lotion and smile. When you go into the living room you see that there is lotion all over the couch, table, carpet, and whatever toys were out
-He shoves as many dvds into the dvd player as possible
-He likes to put crayons in his nose
-He likes to color on the wall, table, chairs, couch, and himself with markers
-If you give him juice in a cup without the lid- he pours it out just for fun
- He loves to turn the dishwasher off if it is on and on if it is off
-He walks into the kitchen and takes every single thing out of the lower cabinets while I am cooking dinner and then he just leaves
- He can reach out of his bed, grab the motrin, take off the lid, and drink the whole bottle without saying a word or making any noise

snow day

Jack has been sick all week, but that didn't stop him from demanding we go play in the snow. I bundled him up and out we went. We made snow angels, threw some snow, and ate some snow. Jack was impervious to the cold. He cried when he had to come in and was not interested in my chocolate bribe at all.
On a side note- we have learned that child proof caps are in fact only adult proof. This morning Jack was in his bed saying messy over and over again. When I go in there I notice an empty bottle of motrin on the floor, a sticky face, and pink stains on his sheets. Jack had reached over to his changing table, grabbed the motrin, opened it, and drank/spilled it. So our morning started with a call to poison control. Where we were told he would have had to drink more than what the bottle contained for any emergency. Oh man--toddlers.

John Deere
Imagine a warm cozy fire with snow falling outside. People sitting on the couches conversing and laughing. A young boy is playing in the back corner of the room. Suddenly asked, " Is someone outside with Jack?"
"He isn't outside." "Yes, he is." "No he isn't." "Yes he is."
There standing outside in the falling snow is a young boy outside with no jacket. He was able to open and close the side door so quietly he wasn't even missed. He walked around the house in order to get to the John Deere lawnmower. Apparently, he had waited long enough for the adults to tear themselves away from the fire.

Weigel Christmas
When I was little Christmas meant we saw everyone either on Christmas or Christmas and the 26th. My whole family, both sides, lived about 20 minutes away from us. That isn't the case anymore. Now we have to load up the car, the dog, and the kid and drive to visit our families. That takes away from sharing Christmas morning with Jack at home. So we decided to have Christmas morning today. I have been eagerly awaiting today, I kept wanting to give him his presents early. I was the first to get up, just like when I was little, and with butterflies in my tummy I walked into the living room wondering what I would do until everyone else woke up. Staring into the empty room I decided to make sure Jack wasn't awake. He was still sleeping quite soundly, I know I made noise. I go over to his bed and just sort of nudge him. Slowly he opens his eyes. I tell him Santa came and then bring him in to wake up Pete. While they are snuggling in bed, still very tired, I set up the camcorder. Next, I go back and tell them it is time to get things started. Pete told Jack that Santa and Rudolph came to bring him gifts, not presents, gifts.
How fun, last year Jack was too small to know what was going on at all. Today he was ready. He was peeking in the bags before Pete had his coffee. Then it was time to move on to wrapped presents. Jack wanted to start with the largest gifts. It was great to see him smile after every gift, and he even told Santa thank you after opening each one. He loved his gifts and we loved seeing him so happy.

pee pee
I didn't see the harm in letting our son go commando. He really enjoyed it and seemed to be in better spirits while naked. It went over so well that the next night he asked if he could once again be naked. I saw no problem since the night before went smoothly.
Jack has decided that being naked is so much better than wearing a diaper. For the past week our son has been naked every evening and even some afternoons. We have had a few incidents. One night Jack went into a tight space and peed. Later on he went back to the same small space. When asked what he was going do to, the reply was poop. I sat him on his potty. He was fine as long as I was sitting on my potty. ( he did not poop).
Another evening he was in the hall and peed just a little. I told him he either had to go sit on his potty or wear a diaper. He ran a little further down the hall and peed a tiny bit more. This time sort of smiling at me. I told him it was time for a diaper and he ran right in front of the bathroom door and peed just a little bit more. I scooped him up and sat him on his potty. We sat there for 3-5 minutes. Nothing. He stands up, looks at me, smiles, then urinates on the floor.
Perhaps I should have gotten the point that night.
I went to get Jack after his nap and he was diaperless. I figured fine, he can run around like that while I finish what I am doing. Shortly, I hear the door to my bedroom close. I go in there a few minutes later and he is in a small space, just sitting there and reading some books. I begin to notice a smell. Yes, he pooped. Here is probably where I should have put his diaper on. My line of reasoning was: he already peed and pooped so we are good for a little while.
An hour passes, yes I let him stay naked for another hour, he runs into his room and closes the door. I run after him and ask him what he is going to do. He looks at me and says: pee. I grab a diaper and go after him. He runs behind the Christmas tree and pees. I got the point and put a diaper on him.
I just hope this doesn't start a marking war between Jack and Tigran.
