As a wife, a mother of 5 kids, 1 dog, and 1 cat I am constantly amazed that we are all still alive, somewhat thriving, and not just eating out of the garbage or chasing our tails, so these are the stories that make up my life gone crazy.

oh me oh my
We all have those weeks where you say: Are you sure it isn't the weekend?!
Although, in my case, I don't think the weekend will solve anything. Sometimes we call Jack - Stinky- I think we should amend this to Stinker. He has been getting into all sorts of fun things this week. At the moment I really could go for a beer or two, but of course being that is not even noon I will abstain-- ok and I am not allowed to drink right now.
I won't be able to carry Jack or do a lot of things for him in the months to come so I began to teach him he could do some things for himself. This has spilled over in ways I didn't quite expect. First, one morning at 7am Jack walks into the bedroom and says: It was really cool when the eggs crashed and made a mess. Needless to say I was awake after that. He was hungry and wanted to make eggs so he got them out, and they ended up cracked and broken all over the kitchen floor. Another incident occurred around midnight. I got up to go to the bathroom when Jack came up to me and said:Mommy come here come here. Made a mess. Need to clean up lemonade. He takes me into his room and there is an empty pitcher on his little table, a cup full of lemonade, and a huge mess. I go into the kitchen to get something to clean it up only to realize that most of the mess is on the kitchen floor, as evident by the wet stickiness all over my feet. He was just thirsty.
Last night we locked Jack's bedroom door, something we haven't been doing lately because it really upsets him. I guess to let out his frustration he went into the changing table, which is mostly used as toy storage these days but still contains baby powder and etc. , and decided to powder bomb everything in his room. I do mean EVERYTHING! He used 1.5 bottles of baby powder.
This morning it still wasn't cleaned up but the powder had been moved into the bathroom. Jack went into his room to play-- or so I thought until he came out covered in powder and holding the powder. Nice. We cleaned up after that. While I was vacuuming I heard a noise. It turns out Jack was throwing balls at Tigran. Not to Tigran, but at Tigran. Now Tigran is hiding under the table. After all this I needed to go to the bathroom. I turn the knob and it is locked. What?! When did this even happen? I had to pull out the old screwdriver and learn on the spot how to be a master locksmith.
I forgot to mention that this morning Jack also felt the need to help make daddy's coffee. There were coffee grinds in his hair, on the floor, and in the coffee pot that was already full of actual coffee.
Oh, I guess I can say- things are never ever dull around here. At least not for long.

Weigel Happenings

The above pictures are from a couple weeks ago. Pete was at the gym when he pulled a neck muscle. He came home in quite a bit of pain. Jack was a big helper and got the ice pack and medicine for Pete. Realizing Pete wasn't being his normal super strong and indestructible daddy self, Jack started projecting Pete's pain onto his bear, Boz. He found a shirt and rumpled it up under Boz's neck. He started asking Boz if he was ok and telling Boz that he was all fine. I asked if Boz needed an ice pack too, and the answer was one for Boz and one for Jack. So that afternoon everyone needed an ice pack.
Other Jack things:
Pete took Jack outside with him as Tigran used the bathroom, and Jack started running away from Pete down the sidewalk. Pete called out to him: Where are you going?
Jack replied: It's ok daddy. I just going to the gas station to get some gas. I be right back.
We started showing Jack that he could do a lot of things for himself, and this has sparked the - I got it phase. This, I believe, led to the watch me phase.
It used to be that Jack would say something like- that was super fun daddy. Then Pete would repeat it- Was that super fun Jack or Jack that was super fun. Now when we do this Jack looks at us and says- I know I just said that.
Pete news:
Poor Pete has to deal with a sleepy, grumpy, hungry, and moody wife while dealing with a two-year old, and studying for his Advanced Topics! I must say he is doing a fabulous job even though it is a bit much at times. He takes Jack to the park where they throw rocks, Wal-Mart to look at the toys that make noise and light up, Home Depot to sit on the lawnmowers and check out the tools.
His Advanced Topics are August 21st! We are excited to have the date finally set.
Becky stuff;
Not a ton. Just normal first trimester stuff- I think all of it minus the throwing up. Had my first appt. with the nurse practitioner and just did the basic stuff. I go back in a couple weeks to see the doctor and that appt. should be much more interesting. I'll keep you updated.

dog/son trick
When Jack is mean to Tigran he has to give him a bone. The first time Jack did this he put the bone in his mouth. It has progressed to Jack putting the bone in his mouth and letting Tigran take it out.

happy anniversary

This week I will celebrate my 4th anniversary. It has been full of ups, downs, happiness, and sadness. We've been through a lot- both good and bad- and I wouldn't change any of it. Thank you Pete for standing by me, loving me, making me laugh, letting me cry, and sharing all the stories that make up my life. You are an even better husband and father than I imagined. I love you.

the misadventures of our son

When dealing with a 2-yr. old you often get a mixed bag. You experience the good, bad, and ugly! The above pictures are of the good. This week we went to a water park for Father's Day, a pool for playgroup, the fountains (just for fun), and we took the Johnny Tractor out for a ride.
The bad list consists of things like: running away from me in a parking lot, bothering our already neuorotic dog, throwing fits, and general two-year-old stuff.
The ugly list this week really only consists of one thing, but I think it should be mentioned. It starts out this way: I went into the bathroom because Jack is whining mommy, mommy, mommy! It doesn't take much time at all to notice the thing I have been telling him for two weeks not to do has been done. He took the small bottle of baby oil I keep on the sink (it removes my eye make-up) and poured it everywhere! Floor, sink, toilet, and himself. I grab a towel and start cleaning it all up. I can't find the bottle. I ask him where it is and he answers- potty. I look in the potty and it isn't there. I look in the garbage can, under the sink, behind the potty, in the shower but there is no bottle. I ask again. Again he says, potty. Ok so I stick my hand in there and I can't feel it. I flush the toilet to see what happens. The water slowly rises all the way to the brim and before it can spill over it slowly recedes back down. Hmm... This doesn't look good. We go to the office and tell them. They send a guy over and he tells us there is nothing in the toilet and instead it was the flapper. I can tell you right now I don't buy this because Jack is sticking to his story. However, for the rest of the night the toilet works fine. The next morning is a different story. I use it, flush it, and water just pours out of the toilet. I plunge and instead of helping it appears I made it worse. Now there is a waterfall coming out of our toilet. I turn the water to the toilet off. Oh my. They send two guys over and after snaking tell me: it appears there is something in there. Nice. Didn't I tell them that very thing yesterday? So they have to remove the toilet but these two guys can't do it. A new pair of men come in and they try what looks like an industrial grade snake first. Then they seem to acquiesce and take the toilet off. They take it outside, and I watch them snake it, flip the thing over, stick their hands in there, shake it, and who knows what else before they carry it away. A few minutes later they come upstairs holding the bottle of baby oil. I should mention that it was just the bottle they carried-not the toilet. Next they say: In order to get this out we had to smash the toilet. Nice.

Life with Jack
You know you live with a 2-yr. old when the following things happen:
-At 6am he stands on your bed and tells you, "I have a big stinky poop. Change me!"
-You go into the kitchen to throw diaper away when you notice the refrigerator is wide open, the crisper doors are on the floor, the veggies are in the sink, and your son is eating tortillas.
-I don't do mornings well, and I especially don't do waking up at 6am well. I laid down on the couch and closed my eyes. I get a wet toy helicopter in my nose as a wake up call.
-I doze again and wake to the microwave timer being set. This means he is standing on the dishwasher.
-When he comes in notice something out of the corner of my eye- the walls are covered in dry erase marker. When I go over to clean it up I notice that the table and the chairs and my son are also covered in dry erase marker.
-When entering the kitchen again I notice that he dumped all of Tigran's water into Tigran's food bowl so we have a very wet kitchen floor and wet dog food floating in the bowl.
- This is all before 8am.

oops!
Today Jack was in bed for a nap when I heard a noise. I paused briefly then continued with what I was doing. A minute later I hear crying. Well, of course Jack is just upset because we lock him in his room. He will just have to cry. About 3 minutes pass, I remember I heard a thump before I heard the cry, and I figure I should at least go see what is going on. Jack fell out of his bed, landed face first on his stool, and as of the time of this blog has a black eye and a swollen cheek.
I gave him a popsicle to calm him down. When we picked up daddy he decided what Jack really needed was a frosty. The picture barely shows his battle scar, but trust me it is a real shiner!!
